GWA – Medical Assessments for Rail safety Workers and Return to Work Examinations
After recent negotiations of both the FLACH and FLAUS enterprise agreements and the removal of the six month sick leave provision, GWA have taken a rather disappointing decision to deduct employee leave entitlements rather than cover the cost for employees placed on forced absences due to company requirements to attend company required medical examinations and tests.
The Locomotive Division is of the belief that the enterprise agreement compels the employer to pay all costs which includes forced absences. We are still in discussion with the company on this matter and will keep members informed as this matter progresses.
