Guards to ‘power from the rear’
NSW Trains management has proposed having guards “powering from the rear” on non-revenue services in the new October timetable.
The proposal is to utilise ‘V” sets and Tangara type trains for the practice, predominantly on empty train runs between maintenance centres and/or stabling locations.
Management propose it will be for Sydney, Newcastle and potentially Wollongong depots.
Further discussions are required before implementation can occur.
