Driver Trainer and Principle Driver Recruitment at NSW Trains

NSW Trains has advised that it intends to fill long term vacant Principle Driver positions and increase its Driver Trainer establishment at Wollongong, Newcastle and Moss Vale.

Principle Driver positions will be re-established for the InterCity depots of Gosford, Moss Vale, Mt Victoria and Lithgow with Regional Principle Drivers being appointed to the following depots of Taree, Werris Creek, Goulburn, Junee and Dubbo.

Loco Division Secretary, Bob Hayden, said the move is a great outcome after a long and persistent campaign.

“The Loco Division has argued for a long time to re-establish/fill these positions, so we really welcome this decision by NSW Trains.

“We’re anticipating that NSW Trains will shortly advertise for the positions and we’ll let members know as soon as we hear that this is occurring.”
