Dispute: appointment of trainee drivers

The RTBU have recently gone into dispute with RailCorp over its intention to appoint Trainee Drivers to Mortdale, Hornsby & Flemington Depots upon graduation from this course. These Trainees were offered employment to take up in these depots which is clearly in breach of the Transfer and Roster Placement Policy.

The RTBU have disputed this as a deliberate breach of the Seniority system currently in place under the agreed Transfer and Roster Placement Policy as well as the 2010 RailCorp EA. If allowed to go ahead, this would have disadvantaged RTBU members wishing to rightly transfer to these depots under the agreed process and we believe is a deliberate attack from sections within RailCorp on known agreements.
