Déjà vu – WA coal miners hit with 43% pay cut

In scenes reminiscent of the QLD RTBU/Aurizon issue last year, the Fair Work Commission has agreed to terminate an existing enterprise agreement covering 70 workers at a WA coal mine.

The ruling will see workers at the coal mine suffer a pay cut of 43 per cent from next month. Workers will be shifted off their current enterprise agreement and put back on the award.

Unions have vowed to fight the ruling saying they will pull out all the stops to have the decision reversed.
