Aurizon members urged to vote no
Aurizon management have decided to put their version of the enterprise agreement to workers for a vote – despite the fact the union says the agreement will rob workers of their wages and conditions.
The company has refused to finalise a deal with the union negotiating team and will instead go to the employees with a non-union agreement.
The RTBU Loco Division is urging all members to VOTE NO to the agreement.
The issues that the company refuses to budget on include:
· Minimum home rest breaks in the grain area to be reduced from 12 to 11 hours
· A wage offer of 4% for each year of the 4 year agreement.
· An improved redundancy clause with stronger wording, and an increase from 3 to 4 weeks pay for 2 or more years of continuous service.
The union negotiating team is prepared to negotiate in good faith to get a fair and reasonable outcome for the membership.
