Attempts to remove 10min sign off time
Sydney Trains is proposing to remove the 10 minutes sign off time currently allocated to drivers.
The rational given for this is that drivers can compile their timesheets during so called “idle time” already contained within schedules.
The company is also proposing that the requirement to check rosters be done during so called “non productive paid time” supposedly already contained in each schedule.
It is the Loco Division’s view that if “idle time” and “non productive paid time” do in fact exist within schedules then that is directly the fault of OPCREW, Scheduling System and management. It should be equally obvious that this proposal is just another of the ongoing attacks on the conditions of employment enjoyed by drivers.
A meeting is planned to further discuss this proposal and members will be kept informed as this matter progresses.
