PN Bulk & Coal: How to vote YES for the postal Protected Action Ballot

Sep 4, 2017News PN Updates

Winning this ballot means that workers can undertake the necessary actions to protect our conditions and our rights without risking our jobs. This is extremely important and why we need everyone’s vote.

Voting for the Protected Action Ballot opened on Friday, and we need you to vote as early as you can. Remember, this is a postal ballot, so keep an eye out for the ballot papers in your mailbox as you should receive them very soon if you haven’t already. We expect ballot papers to start arriving in mailboxes from September 5th. If you haven’t received your postal ballot papers by September 8th, please contact the AEC directly.

When you are filling out your ballot paper, it is important to remember the following:

In order to vote YES, make sure that you place a TICK or a CROSS in the ‘YES’ BOXES.

Please ensure that you do not mark the ‘NO’ BOXES in any way as this may be construed as voting against taking protected industrial action.

The ballot should therefore look as follows:

An unlimited number of periodic bans or an indefinite ban on overtime [ X ] YES   [   ] NO

It’s time to stand up for our rights and we need the votes of all our workmates to win this Ballot!

Download this form for an easy guide on how to vote in the Ballot.
