Extension of drivers mobility trial (iPads)

The current Sydney Trains drivers’ iPad trial will be extended until 1 April 2016.

This will mean that the current trial participants will continue to be allowed to use these iPads strictly in accordance with usage parameters already agreed.

Sydney Trains has agreed that during the life of this trial phase it will begin (in conjunction with the RTBU) a review of the requirements of TWP 100 and the associated mobile phone protocols in order to rectify the apparent contradiction between their current blitz on mobile phone usage and their allowance of iPads.

Members will be kept informed once Sydney Trains advises when meetings will be held to rectify this current double standard.
