QUBE EA almost within reach…
Negotiations for a new QUBE enterprise agreement are drawing nearer to a close, however there still a small number of outstanding issues yet to be resolved.
The main area of contention is around QUBE’s attempt to say that travel on any main line should no longer be considered a ‘local shift’. That would mean that the 10hr shift limit could be increased to 11 or 12hrs depending on the crew configuration.
The union negotiating team strongly believes that it’s the amount of time spent shunting, checking load and brakes, and provisioning that should be taken into account, and that the current definition of a ‘local shift’ should remain in place.
The union team will continue to push for an agreement that provides members with the wages and conditions you deserve. Stay tuned for updates.
