NSW Trains CountryLink halts calls
NSW Trains has stopped providing important calls to members at some depots across the network.
Under the Stable Rostering Code, which is a condition of employment in the NSW Trains EA, members are entitled to calls for:
– For the purpose of advising of any alterations to rostered working (which includes late running);
– For the purpose of advising of the cancellation of a service; and
– For a “wake-up call” between the hours of 0000 and 0600, either at a barracks location or in your home if requested prior to sign-on;
Unfortunately due to the company deciding, without prior warning to cease adhering to the long standing and written agreement, the Loco Division has been forced to lodge a dispute with the company.
Loco Division Secretary Bob Hayden said that drivers should continue to receive the calls to which we believe they were entitled at least until the dispute is resolved, and confirmed the Division will continue to argue for their reinstatement.
NSW Trains has yet to acknowledge the dispute notice.
If you have any questions or concerns about the above, please contact the RTBU Locomotive Division on (02) 9264 3400.
An update will be provided once there has been a resolution to this matter.
