Vale Noel Phillips

The Loco Division’s condolences go out to the family, friends and former colleagues of well-known and very popular driver, Noel Phillips.

Noel passed away peacefully on 24 November, aged 90 years and 11 months.

Noel was a Special Class Driver at Eveleigh where Bill Corlett was his fireman for a number of years. He worked in the rail industry for over 40 years before he retired a number of years ago to Budanoon where he spent the final years of his life.

The railways are clearly in the blood, because his Wayne has been working at the ACDEP/Eveleigh/Xpl Maintenace Depot, also for about 40 years.

Noel’s former workmates will remember him as being a great bloke to work with, a tall, gentle man, and a lovely character.
