In this edition of Loco TV, hear the latest on the QUBE, Freightliner and Rail Entities EBAs as well as a survey helping to find out more about workplace bullying.

1. 

Negotiations for a new QUBE enterprise agreement are still ongoing.

QUBE management put an offer forward in June, which was rejected by members at meetings held by the union throughout July.

A revised offer, which met members needs, was sent to the company following the member meetings, however management rejected it in the spot.

The parties have agreed to meet again this week. Stay tuned for information coming out of the talks.

2. 

The staff briefing sessions to discuss the latest Rail Entities EBA offer are now wrapping up.

From here, members will be asked to vote on the proposed agreement via a postal vote.

These are your wages and working conditions, so it’s important that you take the time to carefully read the proposed offer and ask your local delegate or organiser if you have any questions at all.

Postal ballots will be sent out to members over the coming days.

3. 

Negotiations for a new enterprise agreement at Freightliner have stalled, with the company still refusing to provide member with a fair agreement.

Despite months of negotiations, the company has not only refused to budget, but actually reduced its wage offer for members.

Members recently went back to the company with a revised proposal, which included a lower wage increase, only to have it immediately rejected.

A meeting is currently being convened with members to discuss the next steps. Stay tuned for news as it comes to hand.

4. 

And finally, we all know how serious workplace bullying is, but it’s real impact on workers and the workforce is yet to be explored in depth.

The RTBU is working with a researcher from Charles Sturt University to change that – and we’re inviting all members to get involved.

We need members to take part in a short online survey to share your views and experiences of workplace bullying. The survey is completely anonymous and takes about half an hour to complete.
