Breaking News: Aurizon workers vote on further action following lock-out
Aurizon freight members this afternoon voted to take a further 24 hours of industrial action beginning at 4am Saturday morning.
This is a direct response to Aurizon’s 36 hour lock out of workers.
RTBU National Secretary Bob Nanva said that the situation could be been avoided.
“Aurizon has had every opportunity during this lockout to engage in meaningful negotiations to end this dispute. They have failed to do so,” Bob Nanva said.
“The company has been completely intransigent, leaving us with no option but to take employee response action.
“Members’ claims are affordable and reasonable and Aurizon needs to come back to the table and resolve this dispute.”
