PN stop pay for workplace relations training
Pacific National recently stopped payments for employees participating in Workplace Relations training, despite the fact that all PN agreements provide for payment.
The RTBU has written to the company seeking clarification on the issue and voicing disappointment that the company did not discuss the issue with the union or the affected employees. The issue was only picked up when employees raised concerns they had not been paid after the event.
The decision by Pacific National has been disputed by the union and a number of delegates and raised with various levels of company management without resolution.
Management at PN are yet to reply to the letter. The RTBU negotiated in good faith and expected the same in return. The union is currently seeking a meeting with all Group General Managers of the various business units in an attempt to resolve the issue.
