Metro plagued with problems yet again

The new Sydney Metro system has been plagued with problems again today.

The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting that passengers arriving at Chatswood station about 7.45am during Friday morning peak found themselves stuck on a rogue train that stopped at the platform with its doors closed for about five minutes, then continued past the platform and away from the station towards the city.

Passengers have also been forced onto replacement buses as a result of a reported power failure.

Loco Division Secretary, Bob Hayden, said the failings reinforce the union’s long-held concerns about the driverless trains.

“We’ve always said these trains are a disaster waiting to happen. We’re really starting to see the evidence of that now.”
