Sick joke: NSW Trains asking for unnecessary medical certificates
NSW Trains isn’t playing fair when it comes to providing medical certificates for sick leave.
The Loco Division is currently in dispute with NSW Trains over the when employees are required to present a mediacal certificate when off due to illness.
The union maintains that, according to both the EA and the relevant policy, employees are only obliged to provide the details of the medical condition in the event that the period of leave extends beyond seven consecutive calendar days.
Despite this, some employees are reportedly beeen asked to provide more information than is required after taking just three days off on sick leave.
We’ll keep you posted on how this matter goes.
