Next steps in the PN Coal EA? You decide

Mar 27, 2013News

Meetings will be held at PN Coal depots over the coming weeks to brief workers on the enterprise agreement negotiations and to get feedback on where employees want to take the negotiations next following the conclusion of the last Fair Work Commission conference.

The union again met with PN Coal in the Fair Work Commission this week in an effort to seek an improved offer from the company and to finalise the wording of the outstanding matters.

The briefing meetings will commence the week after Easter. See below for the schedule.

Loco Division Secretary Bob Hayden said it’s important as many members as possible attend the sessions as ultimately the final outcome needs to be supported by members.

“It’s your EA, so it’s important it reflects your views,” Bob Hayden said.

“While your union negotiating team is comfortable with the progress we’ve made, it’s important that members are fully briefed and understand the actual outcomes from the meetings.

These meetings are not to vote on the EA as such, but to brief members and consider the options available, which include putting the agreement out for a formal vote for all members to decide.
