Victory: crew will finally be able to wear shorts!

We’re pleased to announce that after extensive meetings and consultation with NSW Trains management, crew will finally be able to wear shorts as part of the standard uniform.

Eveleigh RTBU Locomotive Delegate Graeme Hartshorn has put a mountain of effort in over the last few years by bombarding management with surveys, signed petitions, medical evidence and clinical studies. After his determined and dogged effort, the hard work has finally paid off.

The shorts will be able to be worn in daylight savings time during the summer period, so we are hoping to receive the first shipment of shorts before this summer ends.

The shorts are coming from overseas, but we can inform you that a deposit and order has been placed by management.

Members please be aware that we have been informed by management that the only acceptable shorts to be worn as part of the uniform will be the ones issued by NSW Trains.
