‘Automatic Train Protection’ is now a little closer to being applied to the RailCorp network. It is in line with our OH&S Committees’ previous stand as to the provision of ‘ATP’ safety equipment and in line with an important recommendation from the Waterfall inquiry.
It has been clear from the start of this project that management moved forward without engaging in robust consultation with the RTBU and the OH&S committees.
Utilisation of SMEs (subject matter experts) by management greatly reduced the feedback content needed to supplement the requirements to our colleagues and in some instances RailCorp treated the RTBU as a third party.
