Freight: new ARG wheat run
In good news for jobs, operator ARG is finalising a new contract to run wheat from Temora to Inner Harbour and we have had initial discussions with the Company about negotiating an Agreement for their NSW Operations.
The new route is expected to be operational from the finalisation of the contract in March or April. Possible depot locations are Moss Vale, Coota and Goulburn.
The RTBU has a good working relationship with ARG, with union-negotiated agreements in place in other states. The growth of the rail freight sector in NSW means more jobs for train drivers and an opportunity to grow the RTBU.
