Secretary’s wrap

Aug 22, 2014Secretary's run-down

Bob-Hayden-Divisional-SecretaryRail Entities representatives started their tour of worksites this week, holding paid staff meetings to discuss the current enterprise agreement offer.

The combined rail unions have also been holding meetings – usually directly after the company briefing – to make sure that you get a complete overview of what is on offer.

If you happened to miss your local meeting, make sure you make a time to catch up with your delegate or local organiser to discuss the EA. Once the tour is finished, it will be time to cast your all-important vote on the EA, so it’s important you have a full understanding of the agreement.

Also, a reminder that nominations for RTBU elected positions are about to open.

The Loco Division, which represents both freight and passenger drivers, has this year continued to get the runs on the board. The Division has recently introduced new corporate/financial governance processes and continues to present a united front on national issues.

We’ve also just altered the internal structure to better reflect and represent the specific passenger and freight issues affecting the membership.

If you’d like to be a part of the Loco Division, and play a vital role in defending workers’ rights and conditions, make sure you nominate.

I trust you’ll enjoy this edition of Loco Express. Stay safe on the tracks.

Bob Hayden
Loco Division Secretary
