Rail Entities provides final offer

Aug 14, 2014News

Rail Entities has announced that it has provided its final offer and that company representatives will commence paid staff briefings on Monday 18 August.

The Combined Rail Union delegates met earlier this week to discuss the latest developments and passed a number of resolutions, including a resolution allowing for union briefing meetings to be held after every company briefing to ensure members get a full overview of what is on offer.

A full schedule of these meetings, as well as further information on the developments, can be found here in the attached document.

Please note that these times/dates are subject to change. If they are changed, we will inform staff via Loco Express and a bulletin asap.

  • Are drivers being rostered to attend the EA Briefings or is it in our own time, as I have noticed a few drivers have been rostered to attend Briefings.

    • Hi concerned ETR driver. The Rail Entities have advised the Combined Unions that employees on duty who are able (can be released) to attend a meeting during their shift will be paid as part of the shift, and those who attend in their own time and sign the attendance sheet at the meeting will be paid 2 hours non subject time for attending the meeting.

  • Central drivers are being rostered for overtime to attend these meetings. I asked TCAC could I attend they would not cover some of my shift…are any other depots being given days in to attend

    • Hi Robert, we are unaware of any drivers being rostered for overtime to attend, but were aware that crew on standby were being told to attend, and that drivers with report time in their shifts could attend after speaking to their supervisor. Also crew who attend on a day off are able to claim 2 hours non subject time as long as they sign the attendance sheet at one of the meetings.
