A number of members have raised concerns about the use of the bar code on the ballot return envelope.

The returning officer has advised in writing that the “bar code or serial numbers single and only purpose is to find the voter on the roll and ensure a returned envelope has been received.”

The bar code is to ensure there is no voter fraud (people attempting to vote more than once) and is standard procedure for all union elections.

Please remember that it is very important that all members vote on the proposed enterprise agreement.
