NIF consultation recommences

The RTBU recently met with NSW Trains and the NIF Train project group to discuss the next consultative phase of this project.

From August and for approximately six months, RTBU delegates will discuss the varied complex elements of train operations in Driver Only mode, traditional Driver/Guard operations (however with a modified role for both) along with a Driver/Customer Service Officer role. Following these working groups, management have advised that they will determine the final operating mode of the NIF trains.

The RTBU and its members remain united in their opposition to Driver Only operations and will actively pursue every avenue to protect and retain the jobs of its members and the safety of the travelling public of NSW.
