NEW YEARS EVE PAY ARRANGEMENTS

Members may have seen correspondence from Sydney and NSW Trains this week regarding applicable New Years Eve Penalty rates.

Those working New Years Eve will be paid double time and a half (250%) plus receive an additional day either paid or accrued.

The Locomotive Division welcomes this news. We see this as fair and reasonable recognition of the hard work of Members, many of whom will be giving up important family time over the holiday period.

This position has been reached due to proactive Members and Delegates from the Locomotive Division raising the issue and providing historical documentation of previous arrangements. The RTBU NSW Branch was then able to use this information to achieve a positive outcome for Members across all divisions.

The Loco Division would like to congratulate Members and Delegates for their hard work and diligence in achieving this outcome.
