Flemington finally gets new digs

Sydney Trains has recently opened the new train crew facilities and amenities at Flemington Maintenance Centre. This facility will finally replace the existing substandard demountable buildings which train crew have been forced to use for the last 21 years.

This modern building contains a spacious and fully equipped meal room, lockers, change rooms, showers and toilets and will also house the required associated train crew support staff, including managers. A spacious deck is also available for crew usage which is provided with tables, chairs and even a BBQ.

To say that this is a far cry from the previous facilities and is a long time overdue is an understatement however, it is good to see that train crew are now being provided with facilities and amenities which they rightfully deserve.

The Loco Division wishes to congratulate all the delegates and members who participated in achieving this long sought for improvement.
